Safari Simbaz

An existing organisation,
not a temporary project.

The Great Bicycle Safari supports an organisation that already exists and already works — strengthening it through structured vocational education, not building something around the ride that disappears when it ends.

The founder

David Kinjah

A lifelong cyclist and mentor, Kinjah has guided generations of young Kenyan riders. He is a Tour de l'Avenir finisher and the first black African rider to race the Tour of South Africa.

His vision has always been bigger than racing. For decades he has used cycling as a vehicle for mentoring, skills and opportunity — giving young Kenyans the confidence and the tools to build their own futures.

"We are not waiting for someone to come and teach us. We are becoming the teachers."
